Steel billet is the product obtained after casting the molten steel smelted in the steelmaking furnace. Steel billets can be divided into two main types from the manufacturing process: mold casting billets and continuous casting billets, and the die casting process has been basically eliminated.

Billets are produced by three process methods:

1、One is through the continuous casting equipment of the steelmaking system, the molten steel is directly cast into billets;

2、The second is the semi-finished steel products processed by the rolling equipment of the steel rolling system from the steel ingots or continuous casting slabs produced by the steelmaking system;

3、The third is semi-finished products processed by forging equipment from steel ingots produced by the steelmaking system.
