Swedish chemical company Perstorp has announced price increases for its polyol products, effective November 1, 2026, in response to a rapidly changing global cost environment. The adjustment covers Penta, NEO and TMP across EMEA, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. The increase for Penta is €100 per tonne.

Polyurethane, coatings and structural adhesive formulators purchasing the affected products face higher raw material costs. The effect on an individual formulation will depend in part on how much of the affected polyol it uses.

Cost implications for formulators

The announced Penta increase provides a specific reference point for assessing its contribution to material costs. Although NEO and TMP are also covered by the adjustment, the size of their increases is not specified here, so their cost impact cannot be assessed on the same basis.

Higher input costs do not necessarily translate directly into equivalent increases in finished-product prices. The eventual effect on formulators will depend on the products they purchase, their purchasing terms and whether they pass higher costs on to customers.
